Does this means its okay for McNabb to continue to play poorly. This stinks! Now we are stuck with an aging, inaccurate QB for the next 2-3 years. So much for trying to get a franchise QB for the future. The public outrage over benching a poor playing QB was too much for the the ownership.

For the fans that would still like to see the skins play well, have winning seasons, and some respect in the league, SORRY! Are the McNabb lovers going to continue to cheer as he continues to miss open receivers?

Oh good. We hadn't had a contract to really laugh at since Albert Haynesworth. My understanding is that year 1 is uncapped, so the bonus isn't prorated and so it actually makes fiscal sense if, you know, you wanted to pay him $40 million.

Now, can anyone spare a dime for an offensive lineman? How about a wide receiver?

And, oh yeah, at least he's not Mark Brunell. We think.

We just signed a nice guy with class that palyed his best football in another city. What more could you possibly ask for? We take great pride in paying players for what they did for someone else. Way to go Donovan!! The production does not match the figures.

You know what else is guaranteed? The camera on Dan Snyder tonight on Monday Night Football. Nice to know, in these recessionary times, that $78 mill is the going rate for a hamstrung, 34-year-old, fading star QB, not particularly well known for coming up big in big games and with four consecutive less than stellar games against the hated Cowboys.

Meanwhile, what's the over/unders on Donovan lasting the whole game with that sieve protecting Snyder's latest Folly?

On the plus side, he seems a totally class act.

This contract extension is a strong reinforcement for maintaining a "Fire Dan Snyder" stance.

When you fire someone, you no longer pay them. So I no longer pay Dan Snyder. I don't buy tickets to games -- or anything else at his stadium. I don't listen to Snyder's sports network. I don't take the family to 6 Flags.

And I don't watch or listen to the games as this would provide compensation to Snyder through the charges for ads.

Cut the flow of dollars to Snyder long and severe enough and he will have to sell our beloved Redskins. Then we can again have some hope for our Redskins.

Head Coach and/or Off. Coord. not pleased with the QB, unceremoniously bench him with 2 mins. to go in a game, then the QB signs a $78mill deal. Hmmm...guess who's REALLY running this team. Still.

Does anyone remember George Allen? The future is now? WE WANT DALLAS? (or was that Gibbs v1.0)You at least have to pay the man (in an uncapped year) what you paid for Haynesworth. McNab can start now and mentor a young QB in what LEADERSHIP from a QB looks like. But the best part is B. Allen raised the bar for future free agent QBs in an uncapped year. Imagine trying to sign Mike Vick with a salary cap hanging over your head. This is what hiring a good GM brings you and lets the owner merely worry about things he really understands, like signing, like signing big checks. Kudo's to Snyder for finally growing up enough to turn the football business over to real professional football veterans. And thanks to the Dumb and Dumber poster fan who started this ball rolling.

Now he can get traded to Chicago for Cutler..... To make that deal the Skins first had to sign McNabb. I happen to think that Cutler is a poor leader and a head case so I hope this doesn't happen

Danny Snyder continues to prove he is a complete idiot. The rest of the league is laughing at this once proud franchise.

I guess $78M just won't buy what it used to.

Snyder = Steinbrenner without class.

Is this proof enough? Stop buying tickets and supporting this fiasco until Snyder sells the team. He was bailed out TWICE in business ventures - once by his sister and once by Zuckerman. The man is an idiot. Give anyone millions of $$ and 3 chances and they'll succeed. Who is going to bail him out of the Redskins?

Once again the REDSKINS ownership has shown the way to the promise land. As I write this Eagles 45 'Skins 14. Yea $78 million for McNabb will shine brightly there in Landover. I long for those days of Jack Kent Cooke and the young bride! At least the hardware was worth keeping then!
I fear for a long long road of 2nd division continues for at least the foreseeable future. Hang in there fans, The CAPITALS will bring LORD STANLEY'S Cup to Chinatown and yes those of you who doubt, The NATIONALS will win the WORLD SERIES before the REDSKINS get close to the SUPER BOWL! And on we go...........

Hey idiots! Don't blame Snyder, the "football people" are running the team, remember? This is such a waste of money. Granted, the O-line is lousy but McNabb looks like a clown floundering around on the field. Andy Reid must be laughing his fat as$ off at suckering Allen and Shanahan out of 2 picks for this has-been. Maybe we can trade McSlob back to Philly for Vick? It's time to tar and feather the Shanahans and Allen and run them out of town on a rail.

don't be impatient with shanahan. he cannot undo in one season what that idiot cerrato did in eight. How snyder could have hired that fool after he destroyed a decent 49ers franchise and was run out of notre dame is incomprehensible.

when I read what the skins did for mcnabb I wonder did anyone tell them he's washed up, did anyone invited them into the locker room to review films or do they actually pay attention during the game. why in the world would you first draft the guy, then bench him, then turn around and pay him 40 mil to do what, throw passes into the ground. skins fans and management wake up, skins fans wake up
