Kevin Garnett on Charlie Villanueva incident: 'I'm a passionate player'
Kevin Garnett responded verbally to Charlie Villanueva's accusation that he'd called him "a cancer patient."
First, Garnett issued a statement that seemed as if it were, perhaps, the work of a PR person or manager and drew Twitter attention for its wording. And, after the Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, he called the incident "a major miscommunication."
"I'm a passionate player," Garnett said (Some, including Adrian Wojnaroski of Yahoo Sports, would say he's a bully. Mitch Lawrence of Foxsports.com says KG should be fined.) "If you don't like the way I am ... I play this way the last 15, 16 years. I leave it on the court."
Villanueva, who suffers from alopecia areata, blasted Garnett on Twitter after he and the Detroit Pistons beat the Celtics on Tuesday night.
