Rick Barry speaks on Eva Longoria-Tony Parker split; Tony Parker does not

By Cindy Boren

What were the chances that Pro Basketball Hall of Fame forward Rick Barry -- the only player to win scoring titles in the NCAA, the NBA and ABA -- would enter into the conversation swirling about the divorce between Eva Longoria and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs?

Barry is the father of Brent Barry, whose estranged wife, Erin Barry, reportedly is involved in the divorce. Brent and Parker formerly were teammates with the Spurs.

"I feel horrible for my son. I'm in shock. I knew [Erin] was moving out of the house soon and she was the one that filed for divorce," Rick Barry told TMZ.com. "This is the straw that broke the camel's back. [Brent] is going to be devastated. I can't even imagine him going through this ... the divorce was hard enough news."

"Extra" confirmed that Longoria, who filed for divorce Wednesday in Los Angeles, found texts between Parker and Berry.

As for Parker, he wasn't saying much. In his first game after news of the divorce broke, Parker was 9 of 14 from the floor and had seven assists as the Spurs moved to 9-1 with a 103-94 victory over the Chicago Bulls in San Antonio. He left the game to a standing ovation with 22.2 seconds left.

"It's a difficult time right now for me and Eva," Parker said before the game. "We got a joint statement and everything else is our private life."

Do you think the divorce proceedings will shed some light on Delonte West's trysts with James' Mom?

So Eva files for divorce over some text messages without further investigation. If Tony and Erin were romping in the sack, now that's a whole other issue. Text messages don't necessarily mean the end of a marriage but I suppose in Hollywood/NBA, it does. How shallow for a woman who can't seem to keep a husband. I guess husband #3 will be coming along soon. She better make him sign a pre-nup barring him from texting all women except for her.
