Shawne Merriman hurt in first practice with Buffalo Bills

Ten minutes into his first practice with the Buffalo Bills, Shawne Merriman limped off the field with what appeared to be some sort of lower leg injury.

Merriman was pivoting on his right foot during a routine drill with linebackers when the injury occurred. According to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, it was not clear whether Merriman had hurt his Achilles' tendon or his calf. He conferred with trainers, then headed to the locker room, walking with a slight limp.

Merriman was waived last week by the San Diego Chargers and joined the Bills over the weekend.

Comments

It's almost impossible not to believe that being forced by testing to come off the juice killed Merriman's career.
