Shawne Merriman will not play Sunday for the Buffalo Bills against the Detroit Lions.
Merriman was injured 10 minutes into his first practice with the Bills on Wednesday. "Merriman strained an Achilles'," Coach Chan Gailey said Thursday. "It's not long term, but we don't know when yet, so we'll see."
The injury is to the same Achilles' tendon he strained in preseason, Gailey said. "We'll see what happens next week or it might be the next, I don't know," he said. "We're going to get him well. That's the most important thing is to get him well."
