Brandon Lloyd has special message for Redskins after Pro Bowl honor

By Cindy Boren

Brandon Lloyd seemed to be joking. Or maybe he was just refreshingly honest. Or maybe he's unacquainted with the high road.

After he was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team, the Denver Broncos' wide receiver was asked if he would like to say "told you so" to his former teams, the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins (with whom he was a "bust of the decade") and Chicago Bears.

"No, I want to say, '[Bleep] you.' " he said in a reportedly half-serious, half-good-naturedly way. "And I mean that in the most professional way."

Just how it was taken!

He can say and think whatever he wants, but the bottom line is that he stunk as a Redskin.

I'm happy for his success this year, but I'm not among those who feels pity for him that he was in some way done wrong by the Redskins. He was well paid for the time he spent sitting on the bench and/or not catching passes.

I'd say the same thing if someone paid me way too much money to crap the bed for a couple seasons.

Thanks Joe Gibbs for signing him and sending those draft picks...it really got us on the right track as an organization.

"That's nice, Brandon, but the last I looked, your team's 4-11, the coach is probably out the door after the last game, and you've still got no class. Congratulations on the Pro Bowl!" :D

Are you serious? Blaming Joe Gibbs? I won't even comment. What an idiot.

Believe it or not saint Joe is to blame for not only trading away picks for Lloyd but for signing him to an extension before he played a snap.

Let's not forget Archuleta over Ryan Clark either. Cerrato wasn't calling the shots until saint Joe left

Good for Brandon. This is what happens to ex Skins. Jason Campbell will be in the same boat in about a year. He was treated like a dog while here and was labeled "the problem with the offense". Our fans may not be the best judge of talent.

That he has three former teams should tell you all you need to know. Even I only have two ex-wives.

Greetings:

The three former teams says a lot about who he REALLY is. Many times you find receivers having good years on bad teams, they need to toss the ball to continue to try to come from behind.

As for the two ex~wives from the prior poster, all I can say is ... good luck pal. The next time you think about marriage, just find a women you HATE and buy her a house. That's probably easier in the long run.

The real problem in Washington is simple. We can't motivate talented players. We can pick a few, sign a bunch, start a zillion... But we couldn't motivate a herion addict to shoot up. That's a leadership problem not a player problem.

Notice how the players rotate year after year and they are always labeled as the problem with the team by the fans and the pundits. When you rotate this many people and the problem is not only still here, but still the same, you gotta go up the leadership ladder until you find it.

Lloyd needed to find a team who motivated him. I dated a lot of girls before I met Ms. Right. Those first girls werent failures, they just didn't motivate me to commit. And that's Washington in a nutshell. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Regularly giving up the precious goodies but never getting the ring.

McNabb is the next Lloyd. Campbell was the last one. I can't wait for both of them to make the ProBowl in the same season, while Washington struggles with their next project QB.
