Magic Johnson, Dwight Howard offer their takes on Derek Anderson

By Cindy Boren

How would Magic Johnson have handled a situation in which a teammate was smiling as his team was being trounced, as Derek Anderson did during the Arizona Cardinals' loss Monday night?

"He would've been cut today," Johnson told Jimmy Kimmel on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (Their "!," not ours.) "I would've gone to Dr. [Lakers owner Jerry] Buss, [GM] Jerry West and Coach [Pat] Riley and say, 'Get him off our team.' "

He was joking when he said he would have "beat his butt or killed him." Really. We're pretty sure.

Meanwhile, Dwight Howard offered up a special rant re-enactment.

Comments

They're only saying that because Derek Anderson is white, if he was black you would have not gotten any statement from them.
