Caron Butler will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery

Caron Butler underwent knee surgery Tuesday morning and will miss the rest of the Dallas Mavericks' season.

Butler, who tweeted a pre-op photo, had his ruptured right patellar tendon repaired. He added, via Twitter:

Championship! Remember that fans that's what its about and we have what it take in that lockeroom to get it done, ill be 100 percent In no time, and I will be the biggest supporter on the sideline until healthy thanks for the support again I'm going in....

Butler suffered the injury in a game Saturday in Milwaukee.

unfortunate news. always like caron when he was on the wizards and he had a good reputation for volunteer work. too bad he won't get a chance at a deep playoff run with dallas this year.
