Ed Reed rejoins Ravens after trip to Louisiana
Safety Ed Reed has rejoined the Baltimore Ravens after a quick trip home to Louisiana to be with his family.
Reed, whose younger brother has not been seen since he jumped into the Mississippi River near New Orleans last Friday, played in the Ravens' wild-card game Sunday in Kansas City, then headed home.
"He practiced, went through the meetings. He was in good spirits," Coach John Harbaugh said of Reed, who declined interview requests. "He seemed like he was doing pretty well."
The Ravens are preparing to play the Steelers on Saturday in Pittsburgh and Reed, obviously, is an indispensable part of their defense. Last weekend, he found comfort in being with his teammates. "I knew he was coming back," Willis McGahee said. "He loves the game. As a team, we've got his back, as a friend, I've got his back."
