Know who likes Donovan McNabb? Vernon Davis, that's who

By Cindy Boren

The San Francisco 49ers are a team in flux at quarterback and tight end Vernon Davis, who famously disagreed with former Coach Mike Singletary, has an eye on one veteran: Donovan McNabb, for now, of the Redskins.

"Oh, man. I'd love to catch some passes from Donovan McNabb," Davis tells probing interviewer Terrell Owens, a former feudmate/teammate of McNabb's, on tonight's episode of "The T.Ocho Show" at 10:30 p.m. on Versus.

"I saw some of he things he did with you when you were playing with him and he did a great job getting you the ball. That'd be tremendous -- I mean, whoever they bring in really -- but having Donovan McNabb, that'd be outstanding."

Hear that, Jim Harbaugh?

(Corrected: I originally called Vernon Davis a wide receiver. He's a tight end.)

I didn't know Vernon Davis was a wide receiver. Does that mean Michael Crabtree is the Tight End now?

Run Mr. McNabb as fast as you can! Perfect Fit!

Send us Patrick Willis in a straight up trade and it's a done deal!

Geesh, I know I haven't posted in a bit, but for real people, do you really think McNabb wont be a Redskin next year..trust me, this is about egos and Mike will give in and start to take over the team and realize he already has a leader. Trust me seen it before, McNabb will be the starter next year

McNabb is gone. Davis is a tight end.
The Post reports have very little knowledge
about anything.

The article doesn't say he's a wide receiver it's missing a period after receiver hence the comma after Vernon Davis. Aside from that who cares what VD has to say.

Good news that someone is at least interested in McNabb and his worm balls. Seriously I doubt Jim Harbaugh (ex-QB) would go for him though.

Hope we get Cam Newton. If not, trade back.

Duh. Thanks, guys. Corrected.

I stand corrected. lol

And that is why he is not a coach. Sentiments for old people (has-beens) do not win games.

There's really no reason to show McNabb the door until training camp, or whenever his next bonus kicks in. Why not simply have an open competition for the starting QB job? Neither McNabb or Grossman are a long term solution to the 'Skins needs. (What was Shanahan thinking when he traded Jason? Does anybody, at this point, still seriously believe that Shanahan and Allen are improvements over Z-Man and Vinny?) Let's give it a rest for now and see who wins the competition in August.

I think they think they know what they have in McNabb. I don't think they think he needs further evaluation. That's what I think....

I agree Cindy. I doubt he's gonna be back, but it was no accident that once the playoffs were out of reach, they gave Rex a chance to show what he could do.
Trade McNabb for a 3rd or 4th. Trade Big Al for a 3rd or 4th. Trade down in the first round to draft Jake Locker and get a later pick (2nd or 3rd). I will wait for a winner as long as the team is willing to build it right.

I am shocked to hear people like, SCPEGLEG, say that McNabb is coming back. Not a chance in hell he will ever wear a Skins uniform again. What ever the communication issues with Kyle S, they killed any chance of McNabb coming back. They are not going to pay him the contract he signed. What a joke to even think that is remotely possible. Rex will start next year as the Skin continiue to rebuild, that is unless they draft or trade for someone better.

"That's what I think...."

Agreed, and he won't be back.

I'd welcome a McNabb trade to anywhere right now. I'm sure that's what eagles fans were saying last year also.

So anybody else think this was Davis' way of taking a playful jab at TO?

Posted by: ouvan59 | January 12, 2011 1:20 PM | Report abuse

Can Davis play shortstop??? Because he'll need that skill to catch Nabb's throws on the second hop...

Its tough being a Skins fan during these hard times, the team is so irrelivant no one even mentions them on national news except as a punch line. The playoffs, oh playoffs, there was a time, long time ago when we were annual participants, these days i spend this time of the year trying to piggyback on some team, namely the Ravens. I cant wait for Mcnabb to skip town wish we could have gone with the draft, maybe this years draft will end our freefall.

Guess McNabb will be playing this time next year either with SF, Az, or Minni while the Redskins baskin the glory of yet another double digit losing season.

Cam Newton father has already put a request in to Dan(little boy)Snyder for a check for $1.2 mil. so "HE" the father can visit Deadskins park to talk to coach Lyingahan.

Willis for McNabb will not happen...

Hey Raidersfan2 what's even funnier than your post is that you are a fadersfan posting on a Redskins site. Especially with the Tales from the Crypt owner. lol
