Alexei Kovalev returns to Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins, the very definition of the walking skating wounded, have obtained winger Alexei Kovalev from the Ottawa Senators for a conditional seventh-round draft pick this summer.
Kovalev, who was with the Penguins from 1998-99 through 2002-03, has 426 goals and 1,017 points in 1,282 games and turns 38 today.
Sidney Crosby has not played since Jan. 5 because of a concussion and Evgeni Malkin underwent surgery to repair torn medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments.
