Jadeveon Clowney decides to play for South Carolina
Jadeveon Clowney has made his decision: He will play for South Carolina. Clowney, the top-rated recruit in the country as a defensive end at Rock Hill, S.C., waited until today to announce his decision because it's his birthday and he wanted to give his parents a Valentine's Day present.
Alabama and Clemson were the also-rans in the Clowney derby.
"I got a lot of friends there," he said in announcing his decision live on ESPN. "It's close to home and my mom can come to see me play there."

Recruiting has dissolved to the point where a high school student makes a national spectacle of making his college choice. We can at least in part thank the Eternally Self-Promoting Network for that.
