Report: Mike Bibby is likely headed to Miami Heat

By Cindy Boren

Updated at 2:52 p.m.

Carlos Arroyo has been released by the Miami Heat, who now have a roster spot available and are expected to give it to Mike Bibby.

Filed at 8:52 a.m.

Having told the Washington Wizards "your money's no good here," Mike Bibby is moving on.

"He sacrificed some money in order to win a championship," David Falk, Bibby's agent, said...with "some money" translating as $6.2 million. That's some money. "Once you're past 10, 11 years in the league, you want to be in a situation where you can win. He's got some attractive options open to him."

ESPN's Chris Broussard reports that Miami is the most likely destination for Bibby, but Falk told the Miami Herald that he was keeping his options open.

Bibby, the brother-in-law of Eddie House, is close to LeBron James of the Heat and the two spent time together Friday after the Heat played in Washington.

Because he gave back 6.2 million smackeroos in order to play for a contender?

What I don't understand is, how does he get paid this year. He will sign with the Heat for the minimum this year, who pays the 6 mil he signed for through this year. To my understanding he only gave back next years salary.

He would be the Best Guard on the team outside of D. Wade. LeBron is not necessarily a guard and can play whichever position he pleases.

I am reading...And soon there'll be a new commenting system that will elevate the best, smartest comments to the forefront. I like Bibby for the Heat, too.
