Report: Troy Murphy chooses Celtics over Heat
After getting a buyout from Golden State and agonizing over whether to play for Miami or Boston, free agent Troy Murphy has chosen the Celtics, according to ESPN.
Murphy, who has played in more games than any other active player without appearing in the playoffs, told Marc Stein of his decision in an email. Portland, Orlando and the New York Knicks also were seeking his services, according to ESPN.
Miami had hoped to get both Murphy and Mike Bibby, who took a buyout from the Wizards in order to join a playoff contender.
