Frank: Deal Only 'Few Days' Away
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), chair of the House Financial Services committee and a key figure driving the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, told The Post's Lori Montgomery that a deal on the plan can now be reached "within a few days," now that the House Republicans are back at the table.
Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said President Bush is hopeful to get a deal done by Monday's opening bell on Wall Street.
House GOP members want to add an insurance provision to the bailout plan; that's fine with Frank.
"There's no problem adding something that's not going to do much," he said.
