Boeing: Dreamliner 787 Delayed

As predicted in recent weeks by Boeing, the long machinist's at the aerospace company strike will further delay the first test flight of its new Dreamliner 787 jet, the company said moments ago.

The Dreamliner, on which Boeing has pegged much of its future, will not make its scheduled test flight in the fourth quarter of this year. The company has not rescheduled the flight.

The big jet was already 15 months behind schedule before the eight-month strike, which ended Sunday. Boeing is one of the nation's largest manufacturers, a sector that has been hard hit by the economic downturn.
