N.Y. Fed Hires Bears Stearns Risk Manager
The New York Fed recently hired Michael Alix as its senior vice president in bank supervision.
He holds an M.B.A. in finance from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's in economics from Duke.
He is also the former chief risk officer for Bear Stearns, which was swallowed by a government-backed J.P. Morgan Chase for pennies on the dollar back in March.
Before Bear Stearns, Alix was a credit officer for Merrill Lynch & Company, which had to sell itself to Bank of America after being punished in the mortgage crisis.
