To Nellie
When the clouds go drifting by,
We will be happy, Nellie,
Don't you sigh.
Down Lover's Lane we'll wander,
Sweethearts you and I.
Wait till the sun shines, Nellie,
Bye and bye."
The traders on the New York Stock Exchange just gave their rendering of this ditty, which they sing on Christmas Eve and the last trading day of the year. Santa joined them on the floor in song.
The song dates to the Depression, and it's about hopes for better things to come.
