Geithner Confirmation Vote Likely Within the Hour
The Post's David Cho reports that the Senate Finance Committee is likely to vote on the confirmation of Treasury Secretary-designee Tim Geithner in the 10:45 to 11 a.m. range today, with a full Senate vote expected next week.
Geithner, who has been embarrassed by his botched tax returns, is nevertheless expected to be confirmed to be the successor to Hank Paulson and be the point man to lead the nation out of its ongoing recession.
Check back here for the vote tally later this morning.
