Senate To Vote This Afternoon On Release of Rest Of Bailout
The Senate is expected to vote at 4:30 p.m. today to release the second $350 billion of the $700 billion rescue/bailout package authorized by Congress last fall, The Post's Lori Montgomery reports.
Democrats are predicting they will get the majority of members of their party and a "significant number" of Republicans; possibly enough needed to release the money, which both President Bush and President-elect Obama have requested.
The House will not vote until next week.
