Bank CEOs Testify on Capitol Hill Today
Senate and House lawmakers begin their intense negotiations today to reconcile the two versions of the stimulus bill, but they will also get to ask some heated questions about the banking sector today. Chief executives from the nation's largest banks today will appear before the House Financial Services committee to discuss accountability issues for receiving money from the government's bank bailout fund.
A day after Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's new approach to managing the government's plan to revive the financial sector was unveiled, the CEOs are expected to get an earful about executive pay, big bonuses and other expensive perks.
Stay tuned. We'll be live blogging the hearing here, beginning at 10 a.m.
