Cash for Clunkers Revs Up

The federal government posted rules today that officially launches the Cash for Clunkers program.

Under the program, consumers can receive vouchers of up to $4,500 in exchange for scrapping their old gas guzzlers.

Congress approved this auto sales stimulus to start July 1. But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has encouraged dealers to wait for today's publication of the rules.
