Markets Open Flat to Slightly Down
Wall Street opened up flat to slightly down this morning in what looks to be a quiet trading day.
In the first 15 minutes of trading, the Dow is off about 10 points, or essentially flat.
The S&P 500 is down about the same amount but the Nasdaq is up slightly.
News today: The Fed's Beige Book comes out at 2 p.m., with anecdotal economic evidence from the Fed's 12 U.S. districts. The last Beige Book, released in late July, showed slowing economic conditions across the U.S. but did reveal a few bright spots of recovery.
Also, today marks the six-month anniversary of the March 9 stock market bottom. We'll be taking a closer look at this later today in The Ticker.
