Stocks up slightly at opening following employment news
Stocks are up slightly this morning following encouraging employment news from the private sector.
In the first 20 minutes of trading, the Dow is up two-tenths of 1 percent.
The broader S&P 500 is up two-tenths of 1 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq is up one-tenth of 1 percent.
In other news this morning, the private sector dropped 20,000 jobs in February, one-third the 60,000 jobs lost in January, according to ADP Employer Services report, regarded by some as a predictor for the government's unemployment-rate number, set for release Friday.
