Lunch Break
President Obama took some time off from health reform to do some stand-up at the Radio and Correspondents Dinner this weekend. Best line? "It is great to be here with so much talent from the world of TV and radio. Despite the flood of new media, I think your programming is more relevant than ever before. At least, that’s the impression I get when I read the blogs every day." You can watch it here:
John Hodgman followed him up with a long exploration of the greatest divide of our time: That between jocks and nerds. Which, he asked, is Obama?

Ironic, given Obama's comments to the Times earlier this year saying that the economic team doesn't read blogs. (Of course, many people pointed out at the time that that couldn't possibly be true.)

The real question here is how many of your readers can correctly answer all three of Hodgeman's questions about Dune. I'd have to check the books to be sure, but I believe they are shai-halud, a thumper, and spice essence respectively. Ezra, if you don't know this, you need to put down the comic books and pick up some fantasy and science fiction novels.
