Optimism? Pessimism? Optipessimism?

David Roberts, one of my go-to climate change sources, has a long post starting from the premise that Waxman-Markey is a bad bill that's likely to get worse (though it still might be better than nothing!) and then explaining why he's still optimistic on the climate front. I'm having a lot of trouble deciding whether it's a depressing post or not.

For a more positive summary of the Waxman-Markey legislation, see this report by the National Wildlife Federation.
