Top Lining

My earlier spot on ABC's Top Line -- and my apologies for originally thinking it a CBS project -- is now up on the webs. It's even embeddable.

High profits for doctors?!? Why, you demogugue. They train for years to acquire their skills. While you, a dilletante, a youngster who has never practiced a day of medicine in his life, never been in the world of business either, think you can remake the entire system...? You get paid for being a bloviator, whereas they perform actual constructive work. Yet you smear their motives in your first sentence. THEY do not even constitute the main opposition to your rube goldberg schemes.

c'mon truck1, he was just characterizing the AMA's position and role in a market sense. Just one of the players in a big field. Higher profits for doctors IS their aim, of course. Ezra is an analyst and a writer, let's judge him on those abilities and leave out the name-calling.

Ezra, I have to say you looked liked you just bought the shirt and tie, LOL - to me, at least, but I followed you over from the Prospect. But you did very well I thought - you could be a commentator on the TeeVee, and actually bring some information to a lot of people. Good work. May I encourage you in this career trajectory that you seem to be on.

Higher profits for doctors is no more uniquely their aim, than making money off trendy leftist opinions is Klein's aim, or living high on the hog in Washington by propounding massive "reforms" is the aim of the Emanuel brothers, or making millions after being president was Clinton's aim in running for office, or making a half a mill days before taking office in a deal to write a chidren's book.....wait. I'm getting to the truth by this route
