It seems to me that the proposed "opt-in" version of the public option is a politically savvy move because it potentially puts pressure on the Ben Nelson's of the world to opt-in since the majority of folks in Nebraska and other red states favor a public option.
Your view? What are the chances of it being included in the final bill?

Ezra: Any chance in the future you can post the chat/question form earlier in the day? I had a question I wanted to ask but had to leave my office around 11 (and needless to say the 3G network in my area isn't reliable enough to count on so using my iPhone wasn't an option). I checked your site several times this morning but didn't see the chat announcement.
Thanks in advance.

Ezra, question - how far the final bill will differ from Sen. Baucus bill? Especially, will Dems do politically wrong thing to throw away CBO number and deficit reduction in the Baucus bill? In other words, what are the chances of Baucus bill becoming the law itself? Which part will go and which will come in? Is it good or bad?
