I made some jokes about Zagat's increasingly awkward stylistic conventions yesterday, but Tim Carman really goes to town on the venerable dining guide's bizarre methodology in this piece.

It's a rite of passage to rip on Zagat. My friends and I thought it sucked when it first came out around 1980. And yet it's still here.
