Last July 18 people were shot in one incident, including a pregnant woman and a two year old, and two were killed, in Baltimore. The story was ignored by the national media, and certainly did not receive the wall to wall coverage these shootings have.
The "meaning" of a mass shooting apparently depends heavily on its context. Or perhaps the news judgement of our national media is growing further and further out of balance.

I've made a couple of other recipes from that blog and they were first-rate.
