Reconciliation

Today I defended the CBO, wondered what Republicans will do when they take control of a legislative process they're on record opposing, looked at the odd interest-group politics of the bill and admitted a secret shame.

Here's what I didn't get to:

1) Every old health-care reform argument is new again.

2) The case against Alan Greenspan's case against (pdf) Alan Greenspan.

3) The founder of Bank Simple talks banking regulation.

4) What the Founders would hate about Congress.

Recipe of the day: I would like to eat these chickpeas.

I was going to wish you a good weekend, but since I'll be blogging about health-care reform this weekend, I decided against it.

Yes! I'm happy that you'll be blogging this weekend because otherwise I'd have to rely on TPM et al for updates. Good to hear/see!

Having read the entire reconciliation "sidecar" bill now, I just don't see the Senate passing that quickly. How do scared House Dems on the fence get any guarantee from Reid on that?

Will the House take the "cowardly" way out and "deem" passage of the bill! If they do, they will have even more egg on their faces!
