Super Mario Crossover

newsuper.JPG

I don't know how to adequately express the awesomeness -- and the productivity-killing potential -- of this. It's Super Mario Brothers. But you can play it online. And you can swap Megman, Link, Samus, one of the guys from Contra, and other classic game characters in for Mario. Better yet, the swap isn't just visual: Megaman shoots and slides. Samus rolls and lays mines. If the Senate knew about this game, the filibuster against FinReg wouldn't last 10 minutes: Too many Republicans would vote for cloture just so they could get back to their computers.

Wow! Brings back good memories!

Sort of awkward to play on the pc, though.

Clever! It is historically inaccurate for Megaman to be able to jump, however.

Oh crap. I way way too much work to do to learn about this!

Oh, lord... if my third-grade nephew finds out about this, things will get ugly. His fingers already have to be pried off the Wii controllers.

The best is to use the Kontra guy (on a magic mushroom) to clear a chain brick in about three seconds by rapid fire shooting it.

Wheatthink, I thought Megaman could jump in one of the sequels...

You're showing your youth again. Senators are old, very, very old, ancient in fact. Old, very, very old, ancient in fact people do not play video games. Old, very, very old, ancient in fact people do not even know (or care, for that matter) who "Megman, Link, Samus, one of the guys from Contra" are. Trust me on this one.

Mega Man could always jump! Now Link, on the other hand... If they'd given him the Zelda 2 sprite it'd make more sense.

EPIC. The mere idea that you can play as Link, HELLO, the Hero of Time, in a Super Mario Bros. title...well, I have to tell you it's almost too much for my near-bursting little gamer heart to process at this point in time. I agree with the person who said this is in the running for best blog post of all time. I also think that if all of the world's governments, not just ours, played more Nintendo, it'd be a significantly more peaceful world we live in. That said, how awesome does Super Mario Galaxy 2 look?
