This is definitely what you could call a formulaic viral video, one that makes a tweak to something that's already popular from a toolkit of other things that are popular, to make a new variation that is likely to be popular if well executed.
In this case, they took a cute animal video of a critter doing an human-like activity (and doing it better than the viewer probably would) which was already popular, and then they added Star Wars. I'm not saying it isn't entertaining or well done, because it's both, but you could have pulled it out of a textbook, you know?
