There was some confusion over this, so just for the record, Wonkbook takes federal holidays off. Blogging will also be a bit slow today, or at least end earlier than usual.

Lame. I was super bored while I was eating my breakfast today.

columbus day comes at the right time.
a quiet and contemplative autumn day is a very good thing.
there should be days when people do nothing more
than to go for a walk, and watch the leaves turn.

columbus day,
designated as quiet leaf-watching day.
and we would all be better off for it.

It's bad enough that the metro was a disaster, but not having wonkbook for my morning commute? That was the worst.

Why exactly is Columbus Day a national holiday? Isn't this the same as celebrating Spanish Inquisition Day?

The man deserves a holiday just like all of the rest of us, jeez!

I hope you had a nice three-day weekend, Ezra.
