Historical Marker Dedicated Tomorrow in Newington

The Fairfax County History Commission www.fairfaxcounty.gov/histcomm/ and the Franconia Museum franconiamuseum.org/ will dedicate a historical marker on the Newington area at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dupell Park www.co.fairfax.va.us/parks/maps/dupellmap.htm in Lorton.
The marker will commemorate the spot where a spur was built in 1918 to Camp Humphreys, now called Fort Belvoir, for transporting troops during World War I.
The park is at 6812 Newington Rd.
