Katrina Aid Concert Scheduled for Sept. 24 at Hayfield

The Critics and Awards Program, also known as Cappies www.cappies.com , is sponsoring a Katrina aid show Sept. 24 featuring high school performers from throughout the Washington area.

The 7:30 p.m. show is at Hayfield Secondary School, 7630 Telegraph Rd. in the Alexandria section of Fairfax www.fcps.edu/HayfieldSS/ .The theater there seats 1,400 people.
Proceeds will benefit families displaced by Hurricane Katrina who will be settling in the Washington area. The suggested donation is $50 for adults, $25 for students. For ticket information, call 703-924-4759. The theater seats 1400, and we're aiming for a sellout.
Throughout the school year, Fairfax Extra publishes occasional reviews of high school shows written by student critics under the guidance of faculty mentors as part of the Cappies program. Soon to begin its seventh season, the program recognizes the achievements of young performers, writers, directors and stage crews. For information online, visit www.cappies.com.
