Local Red Cross Office To Set Up Hurricane Katrina Assistance Center in Seven Corners

The Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria offices of the American Red Cross will relocate on Monday to the Seven Corners area of Falls Church to jointly staff an assistance center for Hurricane Katrina victims.

The center will be in the first floor of a county government building at 6245 Leesburg Pike (Route 7).Clients will no longer be seen at the local chapter offices once the center is open, except under special circumstances, according to a news release.
In addition to receiving emergency assistance from the American Red Cross at the center, people can also meet with staff from the county Department of Family Services and other county agencies to enroll in emergency medical assistance, find out about employment opportunities and access a range of services and support.
