Falls Church, VA -- Earlier this summer, Inova Health System opened the Inova Fairfax Hospital Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), the first regional medical school branch campus in all of Northern Virginia.
Twenty-four third-year medical students are now learning from some of the best physicians and nurses in Northern Virginia. In 2006, 24 more students will join the campus.
On Monday, Oct. 10, Inova will host a formal dedication of the VCU Campus at Inova Fairfax Hospital and celebrate the groundbreaking of the Claude Moore Health Education Center, which will house the medical school.

The Claude Moore Health Education Center will also provide continuing education and certification for physicians, and training and skill enhancement for nurses and medical technicians. The Center will include:
Simulation Labs: Realistic state-of-the-art mannequins, as well as actors portraying patients to help students acquire new skill sets.

Computer-Based Modeling: Realistic pictorial representations of the anatomy that allow alternate viewing and intuitive manipulation.
