Suicide Prevention Walk in Reston This Weekend

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will hold a community walk at 8 a.m. Sunday 10/2 at the Reston Town Center.
Money raised will benefit suicide prevention research, education and awareness programs to prevent suicides and help those who have been affected by suicide.

The six-mile route goes along walking paths and a small stretch of the W&OD trail to Herndon. The route is handicapped accessible.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among teens and young adults and the second leading cause of death for college students. Older Americans over the age of 65 account for 20 percent of all suicide deaths, according to the foundation.
