Briarwood Park Set to Open Saturday
The county Board of Supervisors and the Park Authority will have a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the opening of Briarwood Park near the Vienna Metro station.
The 2.7-acre park is at 2837 Zimple Dr., just east and south of the interchange of Interstate 66 and Nutley Street. It features woodlands, a playground, a basketball court, picnic pavilion and trails.
Christopher Companies developed the park for the county in exchange for a rezoning agreement.
Briarwood Park is accessible to pedestrians from three locations: At the end of Hideaway Road; off of Topaz Street across from Swanee Lane; or at the main entrance on Zimple Drive, which includes accessible parking spots.
