Lawyers Road Park Hearing Set
The following news brief was in today's Fairfax Extra:
The county Park Authority is planning to hold a public hearing
Dec. 15 at Flint Hill Elementary School to present a proposal for
changes at Lawyers Road Park in Vienna.
Park staff
will outline plans for the 13.7-acre park, which is on the west side of
Lawyers Road and about a mile south of Hunter Mill Road.
There
are no existing structures or facilities on the site. The draft park
master plan calls for tree preservation on about half of the property
and the development of a creative play area with a small pavilion, a
loop trail system with a fitness cluster and one rectangular field.
There would also be site improvements such as an entrance drive, 70
parking spaces and storm water management rain gardens.
The
plans are available for review at the Fairfax County Park Authority,
Herrity Building, 12055 Government Center Pkwy., Suite 421, or on the
Park Authority Web site at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks .
Flint
Hill Elementary School is at 2444 Flint Hill Rd., Vienna. Individuals
who want to speak at the 7 p.m. hearing should call 703-324-8662 or
send an e-mail to Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov . The comment period will end Jan. 16.
