South Lakes High Student Arrested On Weapons Charges

From today's Metro section:

A 15-year-old student at South Lakes High School was arrested on school grounds yesterday after police found that he was carrying a BB gun and two knives. No one was threatened or harmed with the weapons, Fairfax County police said.

School administrators alerted police about 9:15 a.m. after hearing that a student had a gun. Police isolated the student, took him into custody and found the gun and knives while searching him, Fairfax police said.

The boy was charged with three counts of carrying a concealed weapon on school property.

South Lakes Principal Bruce Butler e-mailed a letter to South Lakes parents yesterday informing them of the incident.
