Updated 12/1 The church has been denied a waiver of the county's noise restriction that would have allowed the bells to ring out once again. Read about it here. Originally posted 4/6Leaders at Saint John Neumann church in Reston are awaiting a decision from county officials on when, if ever, they can resume ringing the church bells. The county ordered the bells silenced in December 2004 after neighbors' complaints; the bells violated the county's noise ordinance. The story is in today's Metro section.
