GMU Prof Wins Engineering Prize --$1 Million
Abul Hussam of Centreville has been announced as the 2007 recipient of the Grainer Challenge Prize for Sustainability. The $1 million award, sponsored by the National Academy of Engineering, will go to the George Mason University chemistry professor for devising a simple and inexpensive method of filtering arsenic from well water, aprocess which could help millions of people around the world avoid serious health problems.
