PostPoints tip: Rent iTunes movies for less
For one to three titles a week, Apple's iTunes Store offers a much better movie-rental deal than usual: a 99-cent rental, down from $2.99 ($3.99 for new releases). You can see each week's offer on the iTunes Store's movies page, accessible in any copy of iTunes, but it's easy to forget to check there. Instead, visit 99rental.com, which offers updates on Apple's latest discounts via e-mail, in your RSS newsfeed reader, at Twitter or through a downloadable Mac OS X Dashboard widget you can summon with the tap of a key. Some of the weekly selections come at a discount for good reasons, but others are legitimate classics, like "Chinatown," "Dr. Strangelove," and "The Great Escape." This download comes subject to the site's usual terms of service (you have 30 days to start watching the movie, then 24 hours to finish).
