PostPoints tip: AVS Forum, where electronics enthusiasts unite

If you're trying to figure out what HDTV to get, how to use a new cable box or why one TV channel's reception just got better or worse, the odds are people are talking about the issue at AVS Forum. The site attracts consumer-electronics enthusiasts who exchange views in dozens of forums broken down to a staggeringly specific degree--you can probably find one devoted just to your model of TV. Or check out its Washington-Baltimore digital-TV reception thread, which I regularly read for tips about local stations' over-the-air broadcasts. True, it can be a little intimidating to follow the chatter here, especially when the tech jargon starts to fly as people get hyper-critical about, say, the finer points of a new plasma TV. But if you want to know everything that's on people's minds about a particular electronics issue, I can think of few better places to check.
