PostPoints tip: Blogs I like: Google Operating System
Keeping up with Google's been up to do can be a full-time job (unfortunately for my sleep schedule, so is following Apple, Microsoft and Facebook, among other tech companies). So I often have to rely on more specialized sources that focus exclusively on one of these companies. In Google's case, I've become a fan of an unofficial guide to the Mountain View, Calif., company's activities called Google Operating System. Author Alex Chitu may be only a 25-year-old student in Romania, but his blog's accuracy and timeliness have earned it attention. Last week, for example, it noted a major court victory by Google's YouTube site, an extra formatting option in its Google Docs spreadsheet application, added support for Google services in Apple's iOS4 iPhone software, and a new way to measure distances on Google Maps. In that time, Google's official blog--a useful source in many ways--only covered a small subset of those items.
