The 'search neutrality' debate, and one way to end it: Give Android users a choice

Five tech trends to watch post-CES

I'm home recuperating from CES -- literally, as I picked up a slight cold at the show -- and looking over my notes while I catch up on other business. The extra column I wrote for Saturday's paper covers some big trends I saw at the show, such as tablets...

PostPoints tip: Have your Mac pick your time zone

If, like me, you'll be starting the new year with some travel, you don't have to change your computer's time zone at each stop if it's running the current release of Mac OS X. In Snow Leopard, the relatively minor upgrade Apple shipped in 2009, you can have the system...

LAS VEGAS--As you read this, I'll be on my way back to D.C.; another CES is in the books for me. This one had its share of interesting product launches, some practical and others less so--like, perhaps, the Samsung WiFi-connected refrigerator you see at right, which runs such apps as...

A different sort of wireless at CES: electricity

One of the cardinal rules of reporting from CES is "If you're sitting next to an outlet, recharge devices." Batteries will have to get a lot better before that ritual goes away, but a few companies here want to eliminate the plug from that equation by letting you place a power-starved device on a charging mat.
