Will the white iPhone hit stores Feb. 27?

By Hayley Tsukayama

The Apple rumor site MacRumors received a screenshot of what their source claims is a Best Buy inventory page showing the white iPhone will be in stock Feb. 27.

Engadget and others have already reported that a white iPhone has shown up in Vodafone inventories in Germany, indicating a launch is on its way.

Apple has delayed the release of a white iPhone numerous times, eventually announcing a spring 2011 release.

MacRumors is quick to point out that Feb. 27 is a Sunday, strange timing for a product launch, and that it's possible that the company will just delay releasing the white model of the iPhone until it begins selling the iPhone 5.

Are all these delays making you lose interest in a white iPhone? Or are you still pining away for the Moby Dick of phones?

why is everyone calling the next iPhone the iPhone 5 and not the iPhone 4G because think about the iPhone 3G that came out with the 3G network... it seems more like the name will be iPhone 4G, because it will support 4G without a doubt.

B e c a u s e............the first iPhone was the first generation iPhone 2007, the second gen was the iPhone 3G 2008, the third was iPhone 3GS 2009, and the fourth gen is the iPhone 4 2010. So it's not a mistake to call the next gen the iPhone 5 because it will be (unless it's just a new software update to the fourth gen) the "Fifth Generation Model" like all Apple products are viewed. Yes it's likely that Apple will someday release an LTE iPhone/possibly calling it "iPhone 4G" but technically it will be the iPhone 5/Fifth Gen.......it's kinda why so many people call the "iPhone 4" the iPhone 4G because it's the fourth gen model/because they think it's 4G because it's called iPhone 4....and that really gets on my nerves.

I've been waiting for the white iPhone. I know it sounds silly, but I want it to match my iPod and macbook. I also have a phone that's been a tank (Razr) for several years, and I'm less than excited about the larger phone bill.

I hope the rumors are true!

You asked "why is everyone calling the next iPhone the iPhone 5 and not the iPhone 4G because think about the iPhone 3G that came out with the 3G network... it seems more like the name will be iPhone 4G, because it will support 4G without a doubt."

The iPhone is no longer exclusive to the AT&T network in the US. Verizon will be carrying a CDMA version in February. Apple, undoubtedly, so named the iPhone 4 to break with network designations in light of the expected roll out with Verizon.

Of course, the billion dollar question is whether Verizon customers will be so besotted with the idea of having a CDMA iPhone that they will choose to be late adopters of the 4.

Me? I am waiting a mere 5 months to get Verizon's iPhone 5 in late June. If I am going to be locked in a two year contract, I want it to be new technology.

The real question is how many appletards will be lined up around the block to buy Apple's overpriced crap because, "Oh my god, it's like, in white and stuff. So coooool"

Insulting other people only insults your own intelligence level.

Now, yes, it is kind of silly to buy a new phone based only on color, and not on improved functionality; and I haven't ever heard someone say, "I'd love to get an Iphone, but I need a white one."

This is a random collection of words that don't appear to have any context or meaning.

Wait, I'm confused. Is this a news article or an unpaid advertisement for Apple? Is the Post a newspaper or Steve Jobs's personal PR firm?

Beyond a few suckers who've been duped into buying any overpriced crap with a small "i" beginning its name, who really gives a crap about anything Apple does?

Does the White iPhone have any significant upgrade in capabilities over the iPhone 4, or is it simply a white iPhone 4. If it is the latter, and a person already has a good iPhone 4, it makes no sense to buy another one just to get a different color. If the person is trading up from a previous generation iPhone, and they must have the color white, go for it. If they have to pay a premium to get white as opposed to standard black, they have more dollars than sense.

If you have a Black iphone 4g, you can just go to a website that will sell you a kit to change yours into a white one. Why wait or get stressed out?I get compliments everyday about my white iphone 4.

I got it from www.whiteiphone4us.com.Shipped to my house in less than a week.
