Atrix to hit stores March 6 for $200 -- $500 with dock
The Atrix, Motorola's webtop, has a release date, March 6, and a price, $200. Pre-orders will start on Feb. 13.
AT&T announced in a press release Thursday that it will be selling the combination phone/laptop on March 6 or earlier. The phone will be $199.99 with a two-year agreement and will require a data plan.
Hopeful reports that the Motorola Atrix dock would retail for as little as $50 or $60 went out the window when the company announced that the phone would retail for $200 and $500 when bundled with the dock.
Venture Beat said that the price point is a great way to "kill a good idea," mentioning that making the phone/dock combination cheaper would be a great way to get to students and break into the netbook market.
